Re: Kustenstaffel Krim

Find enclosed a copy of the article about Küstenstaffel Krim written by Ulf Balke and published in "Jet and Prop" june 1995 edition.

The unit was disbanded on 31. May 1944 and transferred to Luftflotte 5 in Norway where it was redesignated 12./Z.G 26 on 20. July 1944 and stationed at Gossen island off the North-West coast of Norway as an "Geleitschutzstaffel".

Re: Kustenstaffel Krim

Thank you for your feedback , however there are some records showing that the
unit which moved from Sevastopol in April to Romania was stationed there till mid of
June 1944 until disbaned and became 12./ZG 26 . Whats your opinion on this ?

Re: Kustenstaffel Krim

Regarding the flight log Heinemann the Bf 110-part of the "Küstenstaffel Krim" moved on 31 May 1944 from Silistea via Mielec, Bromberg, Kopenhagen to Stavanger (06.06.1944). The He 111-part remained in Romania (flight log Schulz), later the "Sonderschwarm I./KG 4" --- like described in the article.

Re: Kustenstaffel Krim

The flight log Schulz mentioned an belly landing of He111, 1K+QU, near Mamaia on 26 May 1944, 01.55 am, after an recce flight over Black Sea. Reason is not mentioned.

Re: Kustenstaffel Krim

Thank you so much , I must presume the HE 111 crashed due to a technical failure or human error because there was no Soviet activity on that perimeter

Re: Kustenstaffel Krim

Thanks very much for the update, it seems that this group was left unscaved by VMF Air Fleet and VVS. Any idea
about the identity of those Krim Kuestenstaffel airmen photographed in Krim by Aug 1943 ? was this
date 14 4 44 Kü,st,Krim Ssudak-Balaklawa X HE111H-16 160566 1G+FN an Abschuss by Soviets ?
