Re: Color film brand new FW 190 in may 1945
A couple of larger screen shots:
Color scheme appears to be RLM 74/75/76. Does the 74 looks almost black to anyone else? D.B. |

Re: Color film brand new FW 190 in may 1945
I'm thinking that it might be RLM81 in combination with RLM75. There are some dark not very saturated versions of RLM 81 that I believe could easily be mistaken for a dark RLM74 when seen in combination with 75. Specially in old colorfilm where subtle tones might be hard to distinguish. Thanks for the shots though!
EDIT: Having seen the actual clip now, it's hard to say much except that the lighter color is RLM75. In a few frames the darker color on the spine looked like a perfect example of RLM74 but the exposure and general quality of the film makes it very hard to be certain. It could be an RLM74/75 scheme touched up with RLM70 or something similar. Very hard to tell. Cheers / Anders Last edited by Cpt_Farrel; 30th September 2012 at 23:55. |

Re: Color film brand new FW 190 in may 1945
Here is the same film with Bf109:
http://www.criticalpast.com/video/65...rican-soldiers Text/description is: ''...Location: Dachau Germany Date: 1945, April ------ The Concentration Camp in Dachau, Germany. A group of American soldiers sitting and standing near and in a Messerschmitt Bf-109 (G-6 or G-14 "Black 1") . A US soldier joking around and hanging from the propeller of the aircraft as other soldiers rotate it. A swastika drawn on the tail of the Bf-109. Soldiers stand around the tail of the Bf-109 (Me-109). ...'' Best regards, Kris |

Don't have my references to hand, but probably have more information, i.e. it's WNr and other tactical markings, somewhere ... Cheers, Chris Simon - just noticed further along this thread you've already noted this - sorry for the duplicate info Last edited by cproyston; 18th October 2012 at 13:31. Reason: added tactical marking to first line, note about duplicate info |

Color film FW 190 in may 1945 + photo same plane
Hello,
A black and white photo of the same plane can be seen page 161 (bottom) of the very good book "LO+ST" (author = Hideki Noro). This front view shows well the partially dark (81) painted underwing. Regards. Rémi |

Re: Color film brand new FW 190 in may 1945
I guess what others were doing but all the files are missing from the discussion so I've spent few minutes fixing the colors a bit. Unfortunately most of the footage is heavily underexposed which killed the colors quite especially in shadows & darker tones & made corrections from such a small resolution video quite hard...
But still maybe someone will find this useful http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col..._JG6_Furth.jpg http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col...190_D-9_07.jpg http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col...190_D-9_06.jpg http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col...190_D-9_05.jpg http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col...190_D-9_04.jpg http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col...190_D-9_03.jpg http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col...190_D-9_02.jpg http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col...190_D-9_01.jpg http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col...Factory_02.jpg http://www.hirtc.com/HIRTC/FW190/Col...Factory_01.jpg << panoramic composite Please note - files are a bit wider so they make the board look uneven so I am posting them as links. Hope that is ok? Last edited by Milos Gazdic; 22nd March 2017 at 19:25. |

Re: Color film brand new FW 190 in may 1945
Those are Fw 190 A-8s in the 739000 W.Nr. block found at that Ago factory not A-9s.
Cheers, Jerry

Re: Color film brand new FW 190 in may 1945
Thanks for the correction Jerry.
Still very interesting to see the camo quite clearly. Pity the film was so heavily underexposed drops shadows totally off when it comes to tone & details. |

Re: Color film brand new FW 190 in may 1945
I not sure if this is exactly the same film, but it shows the Fw 190A-8's at AGO Oschersleben.
