108. BAP VVS SF attacking Tirpitz + Soviet recce missions
Does anybody can reccomend source or can anybody help with information to these operations? A friend of mine is writing an artical about this topic.
Also information about Soviet reconnaisance missions rowards Tirptiz would be helpful. Any help would be much appreciated thanks in advance Jan

Hallo Jan,
There was a very good article on the use by the Soviets of the few Spitfire PR types that they received in AIR ENTHUSIAST, No. 90. I do not have it to hand unfortunately - it is hidden away safely out of sight in the attic at my good wifes insistance ! From recollection I think the Soviet Spitfire PR sorties over the 'Tirpitz' were well covered. Again I think their use was almost exclusively on the Murmansk front. Hope this helps, Martin Gleeson. |

May be 118th ORAP?
Jan, I can email you a scanned article from Mir Aviatsii 1/93 by Kotel'nikov about its PRs and Tirpitz. I think you can understand Russian.

thank you very much. But I talked to the author of our artical, and he confirmed that he has the Mir Aviatisii you are talking about. And yes, it is the 118th ORAP. thanks again for your reply. If you would have something else, please let me know. Jan
