Kdo.2, 9th June 1940.

Hi,

H.Fl.A.Kdo.2.
Blohm and Voss Bv138A (0375). Engine failure and crashed on take-off. Lt. Steenbeck (FF), Oblt. Doktor (B) killed. Oberfw. Petzand and 3 crew injured. Aircraft KD+WW a write-off.

Anyone have more information about this crash? Place, first names, names of injured crew?

Thank you

Re: Kdo.2, 9th June 1940.

It appears that you have quite a detailed info on the crash already. From the loss database available to me I can add only the following:

09/06/1940; Unit: H. Fl. Ausbildung (i.e., a training unit); Place: unbek.; Absturz aus 5 m Höhe auf Land infolge Motorschaden; BV 138 A-1; W.Nr. 375; 80% damage

Thank you Sinisa. I checked the VDK website, but they have no burial information for the 2 crew members killed. Of course, they may have had private burials, which happened so often in Germany, which are not covered by the VDK. Anyway, thanks very much for your help.

Steve,

You are most welcome. It is not that my post contributed all that much, but that is all I had on the subject.

Regards,
Sinisa
