Stuka - The Doctrine of the German Dive-Bomber

A crowd-funding project has been set up by the co-authors Christoph Bergs (Military Aviation History) and Bernhard Kast (Military History Visualized). They announce:
We are excited to announce our new book Stuka - The Doctrine of the German Dive-Bomber, offering an unprecedented look at the famous Junkers Ju 87 from World War 2. Supporters of this book can choose from a variety of exclusive offers and can actively help expand and improve the book by a series of stretch goals.

@edwest2

I think that is because I copied the link from YouTube... I have no idea why it does that.

Hmmm...................
A crowd sourcing plea to fund research for a book that probably less than 100 to 200 people worldwide have even the slightest interest in? Now that takes cojones. Never heard of using crowd sourcing for this purpose before. Good luck to the authors.

Good thought. Nevertheless, now 24 hours later and 72% of the funding goal has been reached. Don't forget this 'team' has published two books before via crowd funding. Moreover, they both have a YouTube channel which allows for a massive reach, the channels having respectively 280K and 653K subscribers.

Kind regards, Timon

Yikes, Timon, who would have thought? They write outside my area of interest so I had never heard of them before. Very clever of them and I certainly wish them the best of luck. I did 90% of my Luftwaffe research in Washington, AFHRA at Maxwell AFB, USAMHI Carlisle, BNA London, BA-MA Freiburg, Zagreb, Ljubljana, and U.S. university research libraries up and down the East Coast, but all before 1998 when the age of the PC arrived. We had to pay for everything ourselves back then. And now it's possible to get others to pay for it.

Yes, that is tough. Likewise, in general, studying at school has been made easier due to Google. No need to look everything up in the books anymore.
Luckily, I think you will be seen as a pioneer by many. Just like many others on this nice forum. The YouTubers can't say that of themselves.

156% of target achieved - looks like a great result already and hopefully we'll see more of these crowdfunders in the future. Well done chaps
