Good morning to all.

The enclosed photograph, of a Bf 109 (apparently a F model) whose werknummer is painted onto the spinner of the machine X592 (seems 2592 or 8592) was recently sold at 883 Euros.

What is the story behind this particular machine that made the picture's price rise so high?

It was supposed to have being flown at JFS 7 at Nancy....there was another shot from this same machine from 3/4 rear...showing (if memory does not fail me) a number 2 painted onto the fuselage.

Maybe some of you that are experts on Bf 109 can enhance my knowledge about the rarity of this photograph.

OBS: Be all sure, I was not the winner of the photo...not at 883 Euros (even if I had them available!!).
