Would it be possible to obtain a copy of the sterbebild you do have of Ludwig Hofmann, etc you do have ?

I know my grandmother, the air gunner's sister (Friedrich Arbe was the air gunner) would love to see a photo of Hofmann. She is still alive and well at 95 yrs old here in Pennsylvania.

Daryl

I have a photo of their original burial if you are interested. And know where they are all buried today.

Hi,

Please see photo of sterbebild as he is definitely recorded as a pilot in a recon formation.

Thanks

Rick

Re: Information concerning loss of Uffz. Heinz Hierl - killed over Stalingrad 19.12.1942

Hi,

I have gone onto the German military killed site and found some information on Heribert Hierl.

He was with Nahaufkl staffel 4/10 Tannerberg NAG 7 and was lost over festung Stalingrad.

Is it possible with this information that any further information comes to light about what aircraft he was flying and what happened to other crew?

Thanks

Rick

Hello Rick,

On Fold3 there are six men from that unit who were killed that day. The death cards only note 'gefallen'. Nothing points to an 'Absturz'...

Hierl, Herbert
Pichlo, Heinz
Seine, Hubert
Irmscher, Helmut
Luzian, Hugo
Schanz, Wilhelm

Kind regards, Timon
