Re: Bf109G for Italy 1945

This was only one of the batches received by 1° Gruppo Caccia between February 23 and 24. In all 45 Bf 109 Gs (1 G-6, 1 G-6/AS, 2 G-14, 11 G-14/AS and 30 G-10) and 3 K-4s were received by the unit.

In addition to that, further 8 Gustavs (2 G-14, 3 G-14/AS and 3 G-10) were received in the following weeks as replacements for losses or technical accidents.

Those data are available both in "Air War Italy 1944-45" and in "The Camouflage and Markings of the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana 1943-1945", which I co-authored.

Re: Bf109G for Italy 1945

Both are still available Remi and they are are well worth having. Here are two Amazon.fr links just for you for both:

http://www.amazon.fr/Camouflage-Aero...8255515&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.fr/Air-Italy-1944-...8255546&sr=1-1

But you should be able to shop around online and find others selling them...

Re: Bf109G for Italy 1945

If with the word "reacher" (?) you mean that I'm no longer doing books, that's correct.

I think that one either has the possibility to achieve the best he aims for, or stop there if next time you think you can't improve. It was too much having to fight with editors, composers and so on after years of researches. I think I've reached the best I could possibly do. To do better I would have needed amounts of time and money I don't have.

But I see no need to be sorry for me. Please save your sorrow for others if you want, but I am quite satisfied with the results of my "hobby" (don't know how else it could be named, considering that money certainly wasn't a reason or a goal).

I think Remi actually meant "richer" Ferdinando, in reference to him buying the two excellent books being discussed above
