Re: Rengerslage Konigsmark ??
Good evening Biggles8 !
Can you provide us with a date of the event or the pilot's name ?. It's much easier to find the trace to your desired case. Thanks ! Horst weber |

Re: Rengerslage Konigsmark ??
Hello Horst and thanks so much for your prompt response The crash=site that I am looking for is reported to be at Rengerslage. The aircraft was a P-51 B-5-NA. 4th Fighter Group. 43-6832 QP : K "Miss Dallas" and the pilot was Captain Victor J. France. (MACR 5012 refers)
On the 18th of April 1944, the 4th Fighter Group were engaged on a withdrawal support operation to Berlin. Vic France was persuing a 109 and was unable to recover from a dive, he was almost successful, but crashed into a hedge at Rengerslage (7 miles North East of Osterburg) Captain France was killed and the aircraft was 100% destroyed. I am looking to locate the crash site (some hope !!) and any assistance that you can offer will be very much appreciated Regards, Biggles8 |
