Re: ZD350D-1 FUEL PUMP

On an image I have of a DB605, I can make out ZD-500 with what looks like a 6. ( ZD500 6 ) And Gerat Nr., like Mike says 9-2002.

Thank you Jean! Sorry to be so late in seeing this, I had given up!
So, that is perfect, the exact part. A lowly start for a pump design that became possibly the most important for the Luftwaffe in WW2, in different versions!
Again, thanks for finding and posting!

Great

Re: ZD350D-1 FUEL PUMP

Hello

By looking after another thing, I found the reference for the ZD350 pump also in the Argus AS 411 french manual (the engine was built under license by Renault during the war).

Many thanks again Jean!
I had not been able to trace any of the applications for this pump, now you have given me two large-scale ones in the BMW132 and the AS411! My pump is Erich&Graetz Berlin S.O. 36 made with Werk-Nr 36303. The short stamped serial number on the three matched parts of the casing is 6405 and I would think that might be more like the production volume. There is no date but, it looks to be late '30s to me, the fittings are chromed brass.
If you find any more on the ZD350 or the other later versions, please post!

Best wishes

SM

Thanks Tony!
Yes, the ZD 500 was usually a B (cast steel body) or ZD 500 E for the aluminium body version (also 9-2002 B or E).
There is also a very late production version coded 9-2002 J-2. The J-2 has pumping elements (spur gears) that are half the width of the 2002B or E and I presume it is a designed for a reduced output. Again, I have not identified an application for the 9-2002 J-2 so, if anyone can advise, I would be very grateful to hear!

Cheers
