MACR is 7118. It lists the P-51 as 44-13495, not 494. Capt. William Dillard wrote that Edler bailed out about 50 miles north of Fonti. He was last seen at 46 degrees 26 minutes North. 12 degrees 35 minutes East. Hope this helps a bit.

oups! that is true.I mixed names, first names between Leo M .Walz (crashed 'IMST" it seems) and Brady L.Edler.

I am trying to identify the places of these crashes too:
Gene C.Browne (332 °FG°)
Wellington G.Irving (332°FG)
Oscar Hutton (332°FG)

All shot down by JG300...it seems?

Hello Michel,

the crash place of 2nd Lt Leo Martin Walz was not Imst, but the Rautscher Weiher near Kohlgrub at 10.35 hrs (casualty no. ME 1632).
The loss location of 2nd Lt Gene Cole Browne was 1,5 km north of Oberammergau near the Leyerhof at 11.00 hrs. His plane sunk into the bog (casualty no. ME 1670).

Regards
Leo

Michel,

I went back to check the Edler MACR; Dillard stated Fondi in his report but the map attached does show Forni, sorry for not catching that. For Irving, MACR 7027 says he was last seen in the Kempton area at 47 degrees, 43 minutes North, 10 degrees, 20 minutes East. Lt. Harris reported he last saw him at 1045 hours southwest from Munich. I can find no MACR for Hutton but perhaps someone else can supply that information.

Hello,

Not closely related to Edler but same mission and unearthing this topic may bring news about the final fate of Lt. Irving.
Perhaps local researchers may help.
