Air Attack On Fort William, 1940

Does anyone have record of or can they confirm an attack on Fort William by a single Ju 88 on or about 23 Dec 40?

Still at work but it seems to me there is something about single raiders attacking Fort WIlliam in 'The Blitz Then and Now, vol 2." Will check tonight the date.

Hello Chris,
Blitz T&N Vol 2 mentions that on Sunday 22/23 Dec. a low level attack by a Ju88 on the British Aluminium Company's works at Fort William (which did no damage) Fort William is also mentioned for 21/22 Dec bomb(s) but no details. HTH

Back at home and had the book.

Tony cited most of what the book said. I will only add that the raid is in the daylight activity part of the period (22-23 Dec), so according to the format of the book it took place in daylight on the 22nd.

The attack I was thinking about was onthe afternoon of 13 March 1941 and is described in details (including pictures of Ju88 crew and aerial wartime picture of the factory) on page 482-483. It was another total failure, despite German claims and propaganda.
