Colour film Hugh Dowding?
I am sure that everybody knows this, but I don't. USNA RG 342 Memphis Belle outtakes (Reel 5). Lengthy sequence of visit by someone who looks amazingly like Hugh Dowding, intimate, chatty. Is this him? Entire reel c 20 mins long so give it a whirl.

Re: Colour film Hugh Dowding?
Here is the scene where Trenchard is talking with the B-24 crew around 8:18 on the youtube video.

Crew members are (left to right) Captain Joseph S Tate, pilot ...... (goes on to list the crew). Taken April, 1943 at 93rd Bomb Group. (Hardwick, Norfolk, England). Note that Joseph Scranton Tate, Jr. , then a Lt Col, was killed in December, 1943. https://www.americanairmuseum.com/person/136373 Last edited by RSwank; 8th September 2020 at 21:19. |

Trenchard! Not a doubt. Thanks to the Still Pictures Branch! And thank you both. I am better informed, but as always, no wiser.
