Help with French a/c markings ansd serials

Hello all.
I am in the process of collecting an building a/c for French aces (and many others!). I have found what I need for most of them, but markings and serials for 3 a/c still elude me. They are -

Yves Carbon, Bloch 152 flown with GCIII/10 May 1940
Roger Sauvage, Potez 631 flown with ECN I/16 May-June 1940
Pierre Poupart, D.520 flown with GCI/3 Vichy France mid-late 1942.

And maybe just one more - I have some uncorroborated info that Leon Richard flew a D.520 coded white 33 when he shot down a FAA Fulmar on 8/6/41 - if this is so, does anyone have the serial number for this a/c?
Many thanks in advance!
Peter

Re: Help with French a/c markings ansd serials

Thank you Michel! Just what I was looking for.
Just one question - What exactly is the Matricule number? I have seen this before but never found out. I don't understand that if it is a registration or build number, what is the other No. and why is it applied?
Thanks again
Peter

Re: Help with French a/c markings ansd serials

Hello Peter

the Matricule number is for Military numbers.

These consisted of a letter, and tree numbers painted in white, black under the wings:each plane has his code.

The military number, established in 1925,had the same function as the registration of civil aircraft.I made it possible to locate the plane,in case of infraction,to be able to discover the pilot "guilty" more quickly.

Military planes had to follow the rules of air traffic(in the same way as civil aircraft).

Ex.Morane 406 n° 499 Matricule N-917

n°499 is the n° constructor
N-917 is the Military number paint under the wings.

Curtis H 75 n°13 Matricule X-812
idem

Bloch 152 n°153 Matricule Y-640
idem

etc,etc...

Best Regards
Michel

Re: Help with French a/c markings ansd serials

Thank you again Michel. Now it is clear.
Is there a good book on the French Air Force in WW2 in English which covers all the details of pilots, aircraft and claims, [sort of like Aces High, I guess] ?
