Ritterkreuzträger der Transportflieger 1940-1945

Now available (sorry for my school english...):

"Stille Adler - Die Ritterkreuzträger der Transportflieger 1940-1945", Ingo Möbius/Jürgen Huß
(Silent Eagles - Knights Cross Holders of the german Air Transport Units)

Of the Luftwaffe's high decorated soldiers the Knights Cross holders of the Fighter Units are well known, also Stuka and Bomber flyers.
The transport units are not so popular, but their missions were of enormous importance for the Army and Luftwaffe units.
Mostly unknown is the fact that more than 40 Transport flyers were decorated with the "KC". More than 10 of them received the KC after the Stalingrad airlift, others for airlift operations in Africa or the Crimea.

This book describes each of these men in detailled Biographies, a long overdue appreciation of the german transport flyers.

326 pages, 401 mostly unpublished Photos and Documents, Hardcover, german language

39,90 Euro plus shipping, for order and shipping infos please contact: http://cimm.de/

Thanks for this mini-review. This is a long overdue book, shining light on an underappreciated aspect of Luftwaffe operations.

I've ordered a copy. If anyone from the UK is also interested in ordering, total cost is EUR43.90. Payment by PayPal is possible: MoebiusIngo@aol.com

Many of the Luftwaffe transport pilots who won the Knight's Cross and/or German Cross in Gold went to serve in the Bundesluftwaffe or Lufthansa post WWII.

Some great books in German and French out there nowadays, unfortunately useless to me as English speaking only.
I am thinking of the new German language book on the FW190...

Which book would that be? I'd appreciate some details or a pointer because it isn't possible to have too many books on the 190...

This book was originally published in 1998, so it's 22 years old.
