Dortmund-Ems raids 1945

I have recently started researching my namesake, Max Venton, who was killed on 4th March 1945 as flight engineer with 467 squadron. He was flying in Lancaster MkIII PO-L (me453) which, according to the squadron's ORB's may have been shot down by a nightfighter since there was "much activity" that night. Can any more experienced people on this forum suggest how I might go about confirming this and adding more details?
