Yellow triangle?

Hi Folks,
In 1945 many TG 3 Ju 52s had a small yellow triangle over their tail swastika. eg. on 4V+FV, 4V+MV, etc. What did this triangle mean? Was it painted on ALL TG 3 Ju 52s, or just on some specific planes?

Did TG 2 and TG 4 Ju 52s had similar tail markings in 1945, eg. a circle, or a square, etc.?

Thanks,
Gabor

Re: Yellow triangle?

These were tactical markings and the colour matched the staffel colour

Re: Yellow triangle?

As I recall, the triangle was placed on certain aircraft that were to tow gliders. Another idea is it designated aircraft for target towing.

Thank you so much. Then Ju 52, WNr.7083, ▲ 4V+FV lost on February 4, 1945 at Csatárka street, Budapest was one of them:

Re: Yellow triangle?

TG 30 had such markings and this unit was not used for towing. I cannot say for certain but tactical markings made it quicker an easier to identify a unit. An example of this was the coloured bars adopted by daylight bombers from 7 Sep 40 in the BofB
