Interesting that there are no operations listed for the Eighth and Ninth AFs for those two dates.

Between the 15th and the 19th no-one did anything due to the weather. You might check the Med theatre for something in the south of France, otherwise nothing happened

Re: 17-18 January : Information about allied bombing missions (France):
Hello Canonne,
Sorry to have received your pm and that you are not happy with the result so far. With regard to RAF actions on 17/18 January 1944. Bomber Command War Diaries 1939-1945 has raids carried out on 14/15th ( Brunswick) then nothing until 20/21st ( Berlin). Brunswick raid was not a success. Described as a light raid by the City Report. with bombs on the south of the city and only 10 houses destroyed and 14 killed. Most bombs fell in the countryside or in Wolfenbuttel and other small towns and village's well to the south. Flying Bomb Sites attacked were - Ailly, Bonnet on and Bristillerie. So Perhaps not RAF either ? Time 02.05am Alex |

onjour,
Thank you for all . Your assistance is very helpfull for me for what remains a mystery. You provided me precious information for those 2 days over Western Europe. airwar. Above all concerning the fields of History I have I have not to spend time to study. I beg you pardon when I use "upset" I did not know it was like "unhappy". I meant somewhat "worry". I wish you good researches. Philippe |
