Hello Gentlemen,

How should I understand the word "night" in the sentence "15 crews of which 6 night" ?
...
It is interesting to compare this sentence with a picture's back coming from an old auction. The corresponding photo depicting one of the two Bf109 photographed at Florennes.
You can read "Nite kite".
Is there a relation between "6 night" and "nite kite" ?

Next, at the bottom of same back it is written 9/11/44...
Ho should I read it? 11 September or 9 November ? (bis.)

Regards,
Franck.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

I understand it as 6 crews qualified in night flying Recce (using flares, flash bombs etc.)

That depends whether it was written by an American or not.

I read "nite fighter" — but Americans spell "night" the same way the British do so that isn't a firm clue to the writer's nationality.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

This I understood
But why do you think the guy thought one Bf109 was a Night Fighter?

The first Bf 109 Werk Nummern they mention are 412588 (u/s on 24 September) 412484 (u/s on 26 September).
Many thanks Nick !

This settles the case of 1.(F)/121 then... So from which unit are those two 109's found in Florennes ?

Cheers
