Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hi Marc,

I think it is 380 374. Here is another shot of the same machine:

Wondering where these photos were taken. I bet there were not many airfields with Ju 388. Merseburg?

Cheers
Roger

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hi there,

the photos were shot at different locations. The ones with Fw 190 380374 are from Pilsen, B-17 "Phyllis Marie" was captured at Altenburg (IIRC). Don't know about the others though..

Thanks Roger (and Christian/Marc)

Maybe 380354 is the only digits that fit? Otherwise I cannot understand how anyone can even interpret the first three digits shown in the photo by Andrew..... Looks even worse than from the lousy angle we started out with here.
Perhaps it is recorded as 380354? Oh well, if everyone agrees, then I will show it like that, unless someone objects of course.....

With regard to the Ju 388 line up, yes I have another photo which states Merseburg, so I think it is a good probability.

Cheers
Stig

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Unlikely that these Ju388s are at Merseburg. There was no line up of such planes, although many were there, most of them damaged and dispersed.
Most probably these Ju388 are photographed - as often - at the ATG Schleuse Altenburg.

Stig, you can see the W.Nr. clearly on this photo:

Danke Roger !

Aa for the location, there is a fair possibility the 109's were depicted at Altenburg indeed:

If this can be confirmed, we have I./JG 110 machines.

Cheers
Marc

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Thanks Marc!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-PIC-OR...AAAOSwevZalZHP - This one is from Zellhausen, Bf 109 <<2+ from JG 4 in the background. But I think this is the first shot we have of the Fw 190 D-9 in the foreground showing some of its markings and its Werknummer..
