Bf 109E W.Nr 6378 Loss details?

Hi, I recentley saw a great photo on Eds listings, from E-bay showing
Bf 109E-8 W.Nr 6378 with the stkz KD+EH.
This photo can be viewed on Falcons Messerschmitt Hangar

http://www.messerschmitt-bf109.de/index-1024.php under photo id nbr 5116
I was wondering if anybody could clarify the incident where its purported to have suffered 40% damage on the 7.9.40 whilst serving with 7/JG3.
There is no reference to this in Winston Ramsey's book BoBTN , although i have found the same damage rating in another accident dated 17.1.41
when it crash- landed at Desvres.
I would be interested to know of its subsequent fate.
Best regs,
Steve.

Hi John, thats excellent information , at least it clarifies W.Nr 6378 loss.

Id be interested to know more of the accident on 7.9.40 while serving with 7/JG3.
Perhaps " Herr Falcon " David Weiss can add more? ( Moderator from Falcons Messerschmitt Hangar )

Best Regs,
Steve.

Hi, interesting information Christian, So after testing by Gleuwitz this plane was then transfered to an operational unit, this being JG3.
