Question about Flugbuchs
Hi everyone,
I was curious if anyone knew if flugbuchs for Lt Walter Nowotny during his time with 1.(Erg)/JG 54, or for that matter anyone from this unit in 1941 , exist ? If they do, are they accessible ? Thanks in advance Oquaig |

Re: Question about Flugbuchs
Hello Oquaig
The Nowotny FB, or copy thereof, is known to exist (or have existed.) The late Werner Held included a page in his photo history of Nowotny. Whether copies or the original FB were saved or destroyed is unknown to me.... However, the flugbuch from Wolfgang Kretchmer (II/JG 54, 1.(Erg)/JG 54, 19 claims) covers his flights with the later unit during 1941 and early 1942. Copies of this one are available. I might be willing to share.....😎 Russ |
