Lt. Charles F. Kern (Ju88 Nightfighter) died
Hi all,
a great man Leutnant Charles F. Kern died at these days in Wolfsburg /Germany. He was a German Nightfighter pilot and shot down a B-24 at 30. Mai1 944 over Belgium. The night flight of the B-24 was a secret OSS/SOE mission. All crewmembers survived. Mr. Kern meet some of them in 1994. Best regards Rüdiger Kaufmann |

Sad,
Charles "Karl" Kern came back in Belgium about 15 years ago. He visited Florennes airbase, Cerfontaine and Fosses-la-Ville (where the B-24 he brought down crashed). More stories in the forecoming book about Florennes Fliegerhorst history. Do you have any detail about his funeral? Best regards ClinA-78 |

no sorry I hasn´t any detail about his funeral. I know him since some years and get the information about his dead from a local newspaper. Best regards Rüdiger |
