Fw 190 Wk Nr 581497

I have uncovered a photo of what appears to be a captured Fw 190 coded white 11+- with the helmeted knight badge of 4./JG 4. The above number was written on the back-is it a genuine Wk Nr?

You mean this one?

The W.Nr. was supposed to be 681497. So either the 6 or the 5 is wrong - but which one?

Thanks. My photo is from the port side and clearly shows the badge on the cowling. However, Wk Nr cannot be discerned

Re: Fw 190 Wk Nr 581497

Unless I'm mistaken, the helmeted knight badge is the badge of the JG4 but not of the 4/JG4,all the Fw.190 lost coded withe white numbers are registered as part of 5(Sturm)/JG4.

like the Fw.190 A-8/R2 "white 11" wk Nr.681497 5.(Sturm)/JG4 (two MG 151+Two MK 108) lost the 01/01/45 (Gefr.Walter Wagner):several pictures in the book "chasseurs d'assaut" p.175,176.
