Claims of 2nd Lt. Robert F. Reid (317th FS/325th FG) on 19 January, 1945

Gentlemen,

Anyone knows the exact times and areas of Robert Reid's (317th FS/325th FG) three claims on 19 January, 1945? Is it correct, that officially only the first two were credited to him?

Thank you,

Csaba,

Ju-52 at 1015, SE of Vienna,
Me-109 at 1030, SE of Vienna.

While flying a P-51, squadron code 10. Source: combat reports in the US National Archives. There are only the two reports; I would have to dig up the Narrative Mission Report to check on other claims, which were either not put forward, or denied in their entireity.

Enjoy!

Frank.

Frank,

Thank you. His third claim was also a Messer but it seems, it was denied. The Narrative Report would help a lot to clarify the circumstances of that third claim.

Incidentally, times were reported at 15th AAF always as CET or GMT also?

Csaba,
I am not sure about the use of time zones in the 15th AF. In my review of MTO MACRs, I have found them to

1) not indicate a time zone (which I take to mean "local")
2) use the term "Local" or "LT"
3) use the term "GMT"
4) use the term "A" or "B"

Don't know if that helps.

Enjoy!

Frank.
