Looking for info./details of a Bf110C-1 (2837) od Stab III./ZG76

My question is in regard to the following aircraft/unit.

Stab III./ZG76 Messerschmitt Bf110C-1 (2837). Shot down by F/L T.F. Dalton-Morgan of No.43 Squadron in combat over Shoreham and crashed and exploded west of Church Farm, Washington, near Pulborough, 1.30 p.m. Possibly also that attacked by Sgt M.C.B. Boddington of No.234 Squadron. FF Oberlt Helmut Florenz and BF Gefr Rudi Hebert (of 8/ZG76) both missing. Aircraft 2N+DP.

I am trying to recreate the paintscheme but have little to go on. Would anyone know the colour of the fuselage markings, colour of the letters/numbers and whether at the time, if the unit had any front nose marking (like a shark mouth?)

I have managed to find just 4 images of the unit but have no idea on the colours being used and the colour of the unit badge?

Thanks for any help with colours/markings.

Cheers, Neil

Sharks mouth was II./ZG 76 and most of those links are ZG 26

Chris, guess you meant to say II/ZG 76 the "Hailfish Gruppe"?

Agreed, but the four links posted, I thought were III/ZG76?

Still need colour info though 👍

I think the first two images are from II./ZG 26.

Yes I meant 76-busy day. As to colours best person to comment would be John Vasco. He would know whether it had the white nose or three wasps badge (I think this was the correct badge) having access to Marchfelders colour photos of this unit and having recently written Bf 110s in the Battle of Britain for Wing Leader. Links definitely do show 26 not 76

A check of said book shows 3 wasps over a cloud on the nose on some, no white nose while 2N and P were solid black, D solid yellow and Wk Nr in white on rear of fuselage after P. However, what 2N+DP looked like precisely only John could say

I have a profile of Messerschmitt Bf 110C-1 - 2N+DP, Wn. 2837, created for a Battle of Britain project, which is based on the colour scheme and appearance of other Bf 110s from this unit. Note that the 'P' indicates that this was a 9 Staffel aircraft, although I believe that Obltn Helmut Florenz was the Nachrichtensoffizier for Stab III./ZG 76.

PM me if you would like a copy of the image file.

Peter

The fourth link in the original post is U8+KK of 2./ZG 26.
Note the last two letter of the code, +KK, and the white band around the rear fuselage which was carried by the three Staffeln of I. Gruppe, ZG 26 during the Battle of Britain.
