Ki-61 and Ki-100 Aces

Happy New Year!

Last year I completed the illustrations for Osprey's Aircraft of the Aces #114 on Ki-61 and Ki-100 Aces, written by Nicholas Millman of www.aviationofjapan.com. Since the book has meanwhile been published, I'd like to show you a few samples.

Research by Nick and myself.

For those who are on Facebook, I have an artwork page at https://www.facebook.com/AviationArt.Aero and a group dedicated to the Ki-61/100 at https://www.facebook.com/groups/Ki61Tony/

Many thanks for looking!

Re: Ki-61 and Ki-100 Aces

Dear Ronnie Olsthoorn,

great work !
I had a very good time working through that awesome volume.
I also tried to compile a Ki-61 ace list:
1. Keiji Takayima, 17
2. Shogo Takeuchi, 16
3. Mitsuyoshi Tarui, 10
4. Nagao Shirai, ~9,5
5. Takashi Noguchi, ~9
6. Chuichi Ichikawa, ~8
7. Susumu Kajinami, 8
8. Tokuyasu Ishizuka, 5-8
9. Tomio Hirohata, ~6
10. Tadao Sumi, 6
11. Tsutae Obara, 3-7
12. Teruhiko Kobayashi, ~5
13. Kesashige Ogata, 5
possible Ki-61 aces
Takashi Tomishima, 4+
Mitsusada Asai, 1-7
Matsumi Nakano, 3-5
Jiro Asano, 0-7
Totaro Ito, ~1,53
Shogo Saito, 1+

Any corrections and additions are welcome.

Have a nice Sunday,

Michael

Re: Ki-61 and Ki-100 Aces

..."P-38 Lightning vs Ki-61 Hien" by D. Nijboer indicates an official score of 4 for him. Therefore I remove Takashi Tomishima from my list of possible Ki-61 aces.

Can anybody tell me the definite Ki-61 score of Mitsusada Asai ?

Michael
