This "Do 17" ("DO17 -aircraft w. special armament of six machine guns"): http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=6186433064

is a Do 217 E. The defensive armament is heavier than usual: there are four Mgs (probably MG 15) in the cockpit sides instead of the usual two. The are two 20 mm cannon in the nose - one fixed MG 151 and a flexible Mg FF. It looks like it doesn't have the MG 131 turret so it seems to be an upgraded E-1.

This is a Fw 58 Weihe: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=6186170015

It's an Arado 66 (the title/caption - "Flugzeug Arado Ar 66 Doppeldecker Flugplatz Prostejov" - is correct). The Ar 66 and the Go 145 were very similar but this a/c obviously has the characteristic tail of the Ar 66.

Re: B-24D "Honky Tonk Gal"

B-24D 42-40265 "HONKY TONK GAL" of 409BS / 93 BG / 8th Air Force, lost on 1.August 1943 while attached to 9th Air Force. Codes listed as YM*W

For readers unfamiliar with the term, a "Honky Tonk" is a cheap / tawdry / 'lower-grade' club for drinking and dancing...

As ever, thank you. Ed, for posting these lost gems,
GRM

Re: Honky Tonk Gal

To follow up on George's information on this aircraft, BG was attached to the 9th for Operation Tidal Wave, the low level attack on the Ploesti oil fields and was lost during this mission.

George, how do you know about "honky tonks"?
