Flieger in LW Bau-Batailon?

I have a letter from Flieger Erich Bessner to his brother. The used Feldpostnummer is L 12142 (Lgpa Posen, 1 Kp. LW Bau-Btl. 1/I). He was at that time (30.10.1940) situated in the neighbourhood of Biala Podlaska (Poland). Is it possible that a Flieger belonged to a building unit?

Re: Flieger in LW Bau-Batailon?

Flieger is a rank. In the Luftwaffe Flieger was the same as private in the army.

Flieger it is meant as a rank in the german luftwaffe. he was not a pilot .
the next higher rank was "gefreiter".
