Walrus at B-63 Bruges-St. Croix - No. 276 Squadron

Pictures of any aircraft on the little and shortly used ALG B-63 (Bruges- St. Croix) are hard to come by, if they exist at all... Period late October 1944-early November 1944.
In Norman Frank's book "The RAF Air-Sea Rescue in the Second World War" there's reportedly one on page 134, a Walrus "awaits another sortie at St. Croix"

I'd be most happy if a forumnite in possession of this book can help me with that picture. Just PM me.

Trying to piece together all (rather scant) info about former B-63 in my hometown. Operations (No. 119, 276 and 819 Squadron) from there few and far between due to miserable, soggy state of terrain.

Thanks for help.

Regards,
Leendert

Not quite the answer but nobody researched ASR units in depth. I bet that once you start to research the personnel present at St Croix, you will find tons of photos and documents.

Yes, could find some text snippets here and there, but a single picture still missing of an aircraft at B.63.....
And although Flights of No. 119 and No. 819 Squadrons were also based there a short while, pictures are only when they were operating from nearby B.65 Maldegem or later from B.83 Knokke-Zoute.

Hi
I have been looking for any pictures of No 315 Sqn Mustangs at Peterhead for years. There plenty down south, but nothing there. Well, almost nothing. Apparently, war correspondents did not bother there.
I guess this is the case of St Croix, so you need to find anyone taking photos there privately, presumably on captured camera. To find those pics, you need to check families of the airmen based there. It does work, usually.
