The Dutch Naval Air Force Against Japan: The Defense of the Netherlands East Indies, 1941-1942 second edition

Tom Wamack published "The Dutch Naval Air Force Against Japan: The Defense of the Netherlands East Indies, 1941-1942" in 2006, I was very impressed his work in this book, now the 2nd edition of this book would be out in November of this year, this new edition has 100 more pages than the first edition (310 vs 217), I am very interested in what new information in this new edition.

I am very interested as well. I assume that the message board for the "Dutch East Indies Campaign" is kaput. I have posted a question at the author's fb page.

The Dutch Naval Air Force Against Japan: The Defense of the Netherlands East Indies, 1941-1942
(McFarland & Company - 2nd edition - 12 November 2022)
by Tom Womack
310 pages w/ 95 photos, maps, appendices, notes, bibliography and index
$39.95 - paperback

"Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the Dutch Naval Air Force—or Marine Luchtvaart Dienst (MLD)—played a significant but largely overlooked role in the opening months of the Pacific War. With 175 aircraft, the MLD greatly outnumbered the combined forces of its American and British allies. In three months of intense combat, the MLD lost 50 percent of its personnel and 80 percent of its aircraft, as the Netherlands’ colonial empire was stripped away.

This book details MLD operations during the Japanese invasion of Dutch East Indies, giving a comprehensive overview of organization, personnel, aircraft, equipment and tactics. For the first time in English, the failed evacuation of Java is examined."

Tom Womack posted:
"It is approximately 45% longer with new, updated and expanded content. The 1st edition had 35-40 maps and photos. The 2nd edition will have around 90. Definitely worth the price of admission!"

BIG NEWS!
I just learned that the publication of Tom Womack's revised edition of The Dutch Naval Air Force Against Japan: The Defense of the Netherlands East Indies, 1941-1942 has been delayed until December 29th.

Wanted to be the first to share this with the forum.

The release date of my next book has been pushed back yet again. It was originally slated for early November but is now looking like a drop date in late March.
