Uffz. Erich Tschirner MIA or not?

On 22 February 1944 Uffz. Erich Tschirner (10./JG2) bailed out of his Fw 190A-6 (Werknummer 530417). His plane was recovered near Oude Tonge somewhere in the 70's. Records indicate that Tschirner ended in the surrounding waters and probably drowned since he is listed as MIA. However, recently I spoke with an old man who told me he was an eye-witness (from off a ship) of a man bailing out his plane and that he slowly drifted towards shore and also made it. Unfortunately the nearest village is so small and most of the elder people are deceased now, so there is no way I can verify the story over there.

Can anyone help me over here if Tschirner made it or not?

Thanks!

Hi Brian, thanks, I did not know he probably was downed by a B-17 or B-24.

Re: Uffz. Erich Tschirner MIA or not?

Can anyone help me out with the colour schemes, art and codes for this aircraft. I checked my books, but in it are all kind of schemes, but not for the timeframe (22 February 1944) I'm searching for. :-(

The model is almost ready for it's paint-job!

Thanks!
