Lt. Karl-Heinz Kuntze MIA 1-8-1944

Are there any details about the loss of the above airman please. The licence I have says he was born at Magdeburg on the 22-2-1920 , while the Luft. Officer Career Summaries has Lt. Karl-Heinz Kuntze born 22-2-1920 promoted to Ltn. 1-4-41 officially missing 1-8-1944 . There is an airman of the same name and rank which GQM of 10-1-42 shows as MIA Suchinitschi on 8-1-1942 while with 4(F)/11 . The Karl-Heinz I am interested in was shown on the licence as with Flugzeugfuhrerschule (C) 3 from 26-4-41 to 23-3-42. Despite the dates in the licence could it be the same Airman missing in 1942 with official notification being issued on 1-8-44 ?

Thanks

Re: Lt. Karl-Heinz Kuntze MIA 1-8-1944

The 01.08.44 is the date of an official listing of officers who were still considered missing. It is not a notification of MIA status. Thus, this does not conflict with your document. It may or may not be the same fellow.

Thanks Doug for the clarification, Matti has been good enough to confirm that the Lt.Karl Heinz Kuntze MIA 8-1-1942 while with 4(F)/11 was born on 22-2-1920 . This ties him to the entry in the Officers Career Summaries, the GQM entry of 10-1-1942 and the copies from his pilots licence which I have.

8-1-42 4(F)/11 F (Suchinitschi) unknown Ju 88 1127 6M+DM 100%

Ff Ltn Karl-Heinz Kuntze, B Ltn. Albert Bols, Bf Fw Herbert Radtke, Bs Ogef Rudolf Becker all missing
