Gunther Radusch Ju 88 and codes (02 December 1943)

Good night to all

I would like to obtain more information about the loss of a Ju 88 on the 02 December 1943 due to damages caused by own A-A fire (Flak) over Berlin, flown by the Kommodore, Günther Radusch. The probable code was 4R+AA, but what was the werknummer from this machine? Was it a G-1 or a G-6?

Who was the Radio Operator (wounded)?

Thanks
Adriano

Re: Gunther Radusch Ju 88 and codes (02 December 1943)

Sorry...the machine was probably a Bf 110 G-4 from NJG 5
Radusch was appointed Kommodore of NJG 2 in Feb. 1944...my mistake here!

Günther Radusch (02 December 1943)

Hello Adriano

My information is that he was flying Bf 110 G-4 (W.Nr. 720 400) of the Geschwaderstab of NJG 5 when shot down by German Flak over Straußberg on 2 December 1943. He baled out unharmed but his Bordfunker Oberfeldwebel Ernst Arndt was wounded. I hope this helps and perhaps someone else can add the tactical code.

Horrido!

Leo

Hello Adriano and Leo,

I am sorry that I can't add the tactical code but I have a small correction for Arndt: his first name was Erich.

I wish you all good luck in 2017 !

Marcel

do you know what aircraft Major Günther Radusch flew in 1944?

Kind regards,

With what Geschwader as Radusch was Kommodore of NJG 5, then NJG 2 and then NJG 3 in 1944 if I am not much mistaken?

With the Geschwaderstab of NJG 2.
I would guess it's a Ju 88, because that's what a wounded RAF pilot said, but the Stab also had Bf 110G on strength, according to the monthly strength report.

Regards,
Timon
