Re: German losses, Soesterberg 20-21 Feb 1944

Hi all,

Next one, three German aircraft landed PM at Soesterberg airfield on this date. 2 of these were reported to have belly landed, is this correct? If so can anyone advise about these? Not sure if the 2 that had belly landed were damaged with under carriage issues?

Chris He he .......

Thanks all

Danny

Re: German losses, Soesterberg 20-21 Feb 1944

Oh, sorry mate, thanks. The other one is a Me109 shoot down on the 24-25 March 1944 over Burg, again a Hoare claim. Strange to see a Me109 as a night claim!

Thanks

Danny

The only one I can see from the usual units is 8./JG 301 near Berlin which is nowhere near Burg. Always the chance the pilot was uninjured will make a positive match very hard as that thread shows

Thanks mate for your speedy reply! Interesting to find the source and a education for me, learning about 109s flying at night!

Cheers
