Korea: Searching information PLAAF 1952-1953

Searching information about the activities of the PLAAF in Korea years 1952 and 1953 to the end of the war. I have the book of Zang and some other informations but are always quite limited.
For example:

25 Jan 1952: eight PLAAF MiGs reported as shot down(seven in other publications).
This MiGs were from wich FAD, wich regiments? By the date must be 4th FAD, 15th or 6th FAD. Number of Pilots ejecting or KIA? Victory claims? Area? , etc, etc.

16 MiGs reported as destroyed between March 3 and March 10, 1952.

Other four, March 16, 1952.

Three MiGs, Jun 15, 1952.

Six MiGs between Aug 4 an 5, 1952

Nine MiGs, Between Aug 7 and 9, 1952

Six MiGs, August 29 and 30, 1952

Six MiGs, November 17, 1952

Five MiGs, November 18 and 20, 1952

19 MiGs between Dec 2 and 16, 1952

Two MiGs more, Dec 25, 1952

20 MiGs between Jan 17 and 24, 1953

Actual list of PLAAF MiG losses between May and Jun 1953 are catastrofic. One version say 38 MiGs and 17 pilots KIA, other 94(!) with a unknown number of pilots lost.

etc, etc, etc

Not in 1952, but in 1951. The 14th FAD 40th Regiment in his first combat sortie with the escort of the 3th FAD suffer heavy losses: seven MiG shot down and two damaged. Losses of he 3th FAD in this combat? Claims?

All PLAAF MiGs activities information about this periode, welcome.
Many thanks.

Daniel

Re: Korea: Searching information PLAAF 1952-1953

Hello Daniel,

I think it would help if you provided a list of the books you have on hand. I'm not an expert on the period, but I may be able to direct you to other sources of information.

Re: Korea: Searching information PLAAF 1952-1953

Daniel:

I have some more information about CPVAF since I have been researching Korean Air War for some years. Actually reliability of "public information" about CPVAF is really questionable, even Zhang's book.

For example, the Dec. 13, 1951 loss. I believed you got it from Zhang's book. The actual loss for 40th Reg. that day was 8 destroyed and two damaged, with two pilots killed. The 9th Reg. of the 3rd FAD had one damaged.

We can exchange more if you like.

Light123:

Yes, exactly, the information about Dec 13, 1951 come from Zhang book. A pleasure to exchange more info.
