Arrow Leutnant Paul Hönle - Bf 109 G-6 "Weisse 10" - Werknummer 160683

Interesting story about :
1./JG 3 "Udet"

  • Pilot : Leutnant Paul Hönle
  • Crashed at Gottem (Deinze), pilot KIA
"...Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 „Weisse 10“ (Werknummer 160683) of the 1./JG 3. The German list of lost fighters of JG 3 "Udet" indicates that it was this machine that went down “bei Gent”. According to the German Kriegstagebuch, a German fighter crashed near Gottem (Deinze) at 11.50 German Time. As this was the only fighter lost that day in that area, in which the pilot was killed, we can assume with high probability that it was the “Weisse 10”, a Messerschmitt flown by 22 year old Leutnant Paul Hönle. The crash area is situated in a soggy meadow, near the Mandel river, and belongs to the Dupont family. ..."
