Soviet Air Forces Formations in Operational Army
Gentlemen,
I am currently working on translating a 36 volume set on the formations and units of the Soviet Armed Forces and NKVD that were assigned to the Operational Army between 1939 and 1945. The oA is defined as those forces that took part in combat operations in Europe against Germany and the Axis between 22 June 1941 and 11 May 1945 and against the Japanese between 9 August and 3 September 1945. So far, I have translated the Long-Range Aviation forces (No. 9) and the VVS-RKKA Aviation Regiments (No. 12). No. 12 is still being proof-read, so if you come across any typos, please let me know. enjoy. konev |

Re: Soviet Air Forces Formations in Operational Army
Thank you, konev! Up to now I couldn't find a single spelling error or so!
Regarding list #12: Do you also have data on planes (types, numbers, losses, ..) of each Avia Polk? Did I understand right that there were two diffrent 92.IAP's between 1.November 1941 - 18.June 1942? |

Re: Soviet Air Forces Formations in Operational Army
In Entry C 2136 (regiments section) should '61st guards bomber aviation regiment' read as '61st guards night bomber aviation regiment'?

Re: Soviet Air Forces Formations in Operational Army
ftrbmr,
No, it was not a night bomber regiment, just a bomber. Which entry is A2461? konev |

Re: Soviet Air Forces Formations in Operational Army
Hi,
I'll be more specific. (Aviation regiments file) A2461- misspelled word in the line below 719 night bomber reg. B816 (next to 129 fighter reg.) june is missing an e A1148- 211 Assault regt. (assault is misspelled) C1386- 272 Fighter regt. Wasn't it reformed into 590 ShAP? (file says 590 ftr regt.) A749- 96 independent regt. (independent misspelled) A2587- 765 Assault regt. (assault is misspelled) B2762- (next to 826 Assault regt.) typo next to 'january'. B2982- 932 Mixed regt. 'March' is misspelled. Sorry for pointing out so many typos. Once again, I thank you for all your hardwork and for posting this valuable data. Henry |

Re: Soviet Air Forces Formations in Operational Army
ftr,
Thanks. All corrections made. No, 272 Fighter renamed to 590 Fighter (checked original text). Besides, if it was changed to Assault, it would have said "Reformed to". It states "Renamed to" konev |
