Me 262s obtained and studied by France – information?

Gents,

Beyond the limited information presented in the Classic series on the Me 262 (Vol.4), are there any additional sources on the Me 262s obtained and studied by France? Something tells me that there was an article(s) in a French magazine on this topic sometime over the past few years but I have definitive no recollection.

Any information, thoughts and ideas on this subject are most appreciated.

Cheers,

David

Hello David,

Yes, IIRC the french magazine you are thinking about is the Fanatique de l'Aviation. Let me search a little in my archives and i'll dig it out.

Very best regards,

Philippe

Dear David,

The most extensive article on the French Me 262's of which I am aware is a 4-parter that appeared in L'Album du fanatique de L'Aviation, "Les Messerschmitt 262 de Bretigny", by Alain Marchand:

Part 1: n° 39, Dec. 1972
Part 2: n° 40, Jan. 1973
Part 3: n° 41, Feb. 1973
Part 4: n° 42, Mar. 1973

There have been a few recent articles in French, but nothing as thorough as this as far as I know.

Regards,
Richard

French 262s

There are three pages on French 262's in the "Les Avions Allemands aux Couleurs Francaises, Tome 2" by Phillippe Ricco. It was published in 1997 by Editions Lela Presse (the people who do Avions magazine.)

The text states that there were seven such machines. It contains brief details about them, plus 10 photos.
