On Hs 129 losses on 21 and 25 Oct 1943

Hello
I wonder if someone can clear up the following contradictions.
According to Antipov’s and Utkín’s Dragons on Bird Wings 12.(Pz)/SchlG 9 lost one Hs 129B-2 on 21 Oct 43 and on 25 Oct 43 the Hs 129B-2 of Fw Joachim Bannier, 10.(Pz)/SchlG 9 was reported as missing in action. but these losses are not shown in the Hs 129 loss list in Pegg’s Hs 129 PANZERJÄGER!. The lost list shows only 2 damaged (10 and 20%) Romanian Hs 129B-2s on 21 Oct, both hit by ground fire. and on 25 Oct it shows again only 2 Romanian Hs 129B-2s, both blown up by own troops following emergency landings.

TIA
Juha

Why is it a contradiction? The Pegg-list is definitely not 100%

13./SG9 on 25 Oct 43 lost one by Flak
is what I can find.

Right unit and reason for loss, but 2 days earlier - could this be one of the machines you're looking for?
Hs 129B-2, 140759, Maciejewski, Fw. Joachim, , , 13.(Pz.), Schl.G. 9, rote, M +, , , 23-Oct-43, MIA, probably due to Flak., , Lfl.4/Einsatz Osten, Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #12)-Vol.24; Pegg, Hs 129, p.323, , nördlich Losowatka, 100%, F, , ,

Re: On Hs 129 losses on 21 and 25 Oct 1943

Hello Jim
I noticed that loss in Pegg’s loss list and thought that it might be the one, 3 and 5 might easily mix up, the first names are same but the surnames are totally different, there might generate some differences when a name is first transliterate from latin to cyrill alphabets and then back to latin ones but clearly that is not the explanation in this case. So a possibility but I decided to ask if there are better candidates.

BTW, Jörg, what were you sources?
