KG 40 Loss , May 6 ,1941 .

On May 6 , 1941 a HE111 H-3 " V4+DK" wrk nr. 4063 of III./KG40 crashed off the South East coast of Ireland . Two crew members survived , Oblt. Walter Hollborn (pilot) and Uffz. Josef Emmerich ( gunner) . Fw. Walther Franke ( radio operator) and Ofw. Erwin Seyfried (navigator) were killed in the crash . Hollborn and Emmerich were interned in Ireland . The body of Seyfried was later washed ashore in Ireland but the body of Franke was never found .
Can anybody add to this and if possible can anybody tell me where Franke came from in Germany , thanks.

Franke is reported as killed as was Seyfried 10 May 41 as opposed to missing. 53543/26 born 5 Jul 15 Kleinbrembach/Weimar. They were 8/KG 40 by the way and it was Walther not Walter Hollborn and Walter not Walther Franke according to the NVM

Many thanks for your help Chris , sorry I got the spelling of my Walther's the wrong way around . Do you possibly know if the body of Walter Franke was recovered ? According to Walther Hollborn he assumed that Franke went down with the aircraft . Also Franke's body is not buried in Ireland so is it possible that he was washed up on the English coast some where ?
