Luftwaffe claims 7 February 1945, Belgium

Hi,

I’m investigating the fate of W/O James Morgan Harris (RAAF). He was with No. 234 Sqdn RAF.

Harris was killed February 7th 1945 at 3 pm. at Vaalbeek (Belgium), situated about 6 kilometres south of Louvain. His Mustang Mk III, serial number FB115, crashed in a field at Vaalbeek, Feb. 7th 1945. Raf records state: Reason of crash unknown.

According to a local eye-witness, Harris’s Mustang was chased and fired upon by a German fighter, shortly before it crashed at Vaalbeek.

Hence the following question:
Has anybody corresponding Luftwaffe claims over Belgium, Feb. 7th 1945, 15.00 hours.

I thank you in advance for your kind help in this matter.
Cheers,
Dirk
