LW documents (FAKE???) Me 262 pilot unknonw and EL-träger unknown
Good morning to all
A friend of mine just passed to me some links to LW documents that I never seen: http://www.leilaocollecione.com.br/p...tot=&tipo=|44| http://www.leilaocollecione.com.br/p...tot=&tipo=|44| http://www.leilaocollecione.com.br/p...tot=&tipo=|44| We were checking them and the names and guess what, it seems pretty fake! The Me 262 pilot and Jagdgeschwader seems to be from a unit that never flew the Schwalbe. The last (JG Richtofen airman) seems to wear the Eichenlaub, but his name does not match any of the JG 2 winners.... The JG 54 airman and signature from the Kommodore does not match any of the known Kommodores. We are not EXPERTS on LW documents, but could someone advise us if those are fake or real documents? Viele Danke! Thanks! Merci! Obrigado! Adriano B. |

The cover alone gives all that away...it is a fantasy piece.

There are similar fantasy pieces around for U-boat commanders and Waffen-SS knights cross recipients, on some of them the names do not match the photos.

Having seen many similar items, these are not authentic.

LW documents (FAKE???) Me 262 pilot unknonw and EL-träger unknown
Adriano
These, and a myriad of Jagdflieger, Waffen-SS, Fallschirmjäger, U-Boote, E-Boote, Gestapo, SD and anything and everything in between have been flooding the collector market for the last couple of years now. Some have obvious spelling and grammatical errors, and many feature photos of well known RKT to boot. I have read these are originating from eastern Europe, but have nothing to confirm this against. Unfortunatly, some well known auction houses are among those peddling these items, and some have sold for reasonably high amounts of money, for what are nothing other than total fakes. Regards Richard. |

Re: LW documents (FAKE???) Me 262 pilot unknonw and EL-träger unknown
I am personally aware of a high priced, non-Luftwaffe item that was sold to a buyer who had not done his research. In another case, another non-Luftwaffe item was sold by a large US auction house even though a friend of mine pointed out to the seller that the item contained a non-original part. They dismissed him. Later, they discovered that he was right and had to issue a refund to the buyer.

"Heimatschutze" --- the artist of the document must be an dyslexic.
