J is not a Staffel code. I's a mistake in the GQM. If 3'rd Staffel then 6N+JL.

Report says very little. 13 He 111 of KGr 100 dropped 48 SC 50, 4896 B1 E1 and 4896 B1 E1 ZA on Birmingham between 2035 and 2116 hrs reporting 18 large fires. One aircraft crashed on friendly territory

Hi Chris, thank you for that information. i have had 2 varying accounts on the amount of aircraft. One gives 13 the other says 13 so it is difficult at this stage to come to some conclusion as to the right one. There is also a conflicting report of the time the aircraft crashed on its way to Birmingham. One account is 19.45hrs which is more likely to be correct as this was heard by many islanders and the fact that the Germans sent a boat out to check for survivors and other is the the aircraft crashed at around 20.25hrs.
