D3A 'Val' at 711 Neal Ave. in Wahiawa, HI

Hi Folks,
Just visited the crash site of an Aichi D3A 'Val' dive bomber at 711 Neal Avenue in Wahiawa, Oahu and also talked to the owner. He did not know about the 7 December 1941 crash on his property (the current house was built in 1965), but told me that at the high-end of the street there still lives an old resident, who witnessed the attack on Wheeler Field and eye-contacted a low flying Asian (sic!) pilot who was smiling and waving to him without firing a single shot. Obviously he was focusing on his task/mission only.

Wondering if the identity (at least her launching carrier) has been established of the crashed Aichi, or the other one near the local power plant?
Thanks,
Gabor

The identity of the planes is discussed on this link:

https://japanese-aviation.forumotion...s-dive-bombers

"Two crashes of dive bomber Type 99 (and later given the code name "VAL") were near "Wheeler" airbase.
Both crashed just outside the base in or near the community of Wahiawa, Oahu. Mr. David Aiken's research reveals that
both aircraft were from the Japanese carrier KAGA. Both VALs had targeted the USS NEVADA during her sortie within the harbor. One of the two VALs came under attack by P-40 pilot, 2Lt George Welch. That plane crashed at 711 Neal Street.
This was near the Civilian Conservation Corps encampment [at what is now the Wahiawa Freshwater State Park].
Many CCC men were quick to the scene. Some veterans suggest this site was 'Just outside the front gate'. However,
the site was not that close." ... etc..... Also quite a few photos on the link.

...."The plane was AII-250 and was flown by a hikotaicho (flight leader). The crew were Lt. Saburo Makino (pilot) and CPO Sueo Sukida (radioman/gunner).
This plane was shot down by George Welch and crashed at 711 Neal Avenue, Wahiawa."

The link above on the Kaga Dive Bombers is linked off this page which has info by Carrier and Type of plane for all the planes in the Peal Harbor attack:
