Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft

Can anyone comment on what role, if any, Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft (AEG) had in the production of parts for aircraft and/or aircraft-installed equipment used by the Luftwaffe during WWII?

Thank you,
Steve

Re: Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft

Hi Steve,

For one, AEG's Professor Dr. Friedrich Gladenbach, one of the top boffin's of the Reich, came up with the idea of an electro-acoustical radar code-named BALDRIAN.

best regards,

Jim

Re: Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft

That would be spelled 'Elektrizitaets'.

Re: Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft

AEG developed the infra red spanner deployed in a few aircraft together with other companies like Leitz.

Thank you,
Steve
A book about dismantlement in the Soviet zone of occupation, compiled by the Landeshauptarchiv Brandenburg in 2007 does list some 17 different AEG establishments in this area alone.

AEG was a very large company with a lot of dependancies and it was almost certainly engaged with a lot of different projects for the Luftwaffe. I guess it would need the work of a doctoral dissertation to identify them all - if this is possible at all...

Cheers,
Christian

Re: Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft

I appreciate the earlier responses.

Here’s the reason for my inquiry regarding AEG…

https://www.mediafire.com/view/qh9f0...Do17Z.jpg/file

These plates indicate that that company made “something” for the Do17Z.

Might 3354 or 3357 connect with Do17Z serial numbers (WNr)?
