Bombs on Guernsey 9 August 1940
Hi guys
On 9 August 1940, a single 2 Group Blenheim (squadron/crew unknown to me) attacked Guernsey aerodrome as a secondary target. The crew claimed a transport aircraft hit by their bombs. 1) Does anyone know identity of crew? 2) What was the damage inflicted? Was a transport aircraft damaged/ destroyed? 3) Was it in conjunction with this raid that the 2./JG53 aircraft crashed into the flak battery and killed three gunners? Later, at dusk, six CC Blenheims (59 Sqn) carried out a planned attack on Guernsey aerodrome. What damage was caused. At least two Blenheims hit by flak but returned safely. Any help appreciated.
