Looking for info on this KG26 aircraft 39/40??
Hello,
Does anyone know anything further about this He111 currently on eBay, reported to be 1H+GM of 4./KG26? I'm particularly interested in knowing if other photos of this a/c exist and if anything is known about during what period this might have been taken. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...l#ht_500wt_987 Thanx, |

Re: Looking for info on this KG26 aircraft 39/40??
Hello Larry,
I have downloaded one from the other side of the fuselage which was sold at ebay in Jan 2009. I believe the first image was published many years ago. Perhaps in Karl Ries 1976 book Luftwaffe Embleme. Photo Collection 1935-1945. Can't get at my copy right now to check. Br/Goran |

Re: Looking for info on this KG26 aircraft 39/40??
John/Goran,
John, thank for the loss info. This means that a 1H+GM was lost within the time frame of the EOE Project (to end of 1940). However, this could also be a later (or earlier) a/c with the same code. Don't have any way to know this at present. Goran: your photo was most welcome, which confirms that this was 1H+GM, and that it carried the marking on both sides of the fuselage. The problem I'm still facing, is this 1940 or not? I don't think that it was in Luftwaffe Emblems, as I'm pretty sure that I'd remember it. I have all of Ries books back to the beginning and I don't specifically remember this one in any of the, but I could be wrong. Will need additional info to see if this fits our time period (and thus might be one of our color a/c profiles). Anyone else have info or opinion about this one? Regards, |
