Two B-26s 379thBG lost 7 June 1944
Hi guys
I note that on 7 June 1944, the 379thBG lost 42-76110 (pilot Edward Ktetschmer) that crash-landed at Rye following contact with 'friendly' aircraft; and 42-96122 (pilot Richard Cordell) due to "run away turret" (??). I don't know what the latter means, do you? Were the two incidents connected? Did '122 accidentaly shoot down '110? And did '122 accidentally shoot down itself for it to be also 'lost' on this date? Cheers Brian |

Re: Two B-26s 379thBG lost 7 June 1944
Do you have the right BG ?
the 379th was a Heavy Bomb Group, it flew B-17s, according to Army Airforces.com |
