Spitfire BR625 from 403. SQ - loss 13.3.1945

Hi all, can somebody share with me more info about this Spitfire and his service by 403. SQ?
Based on info from this link, this machine was with this squadron about 2,5 years from 1942, which is very strange for me or this is very rare. Information about this ramrod will be very helpful.

Thanks

Another link to the pilot, http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/rememb...detail/2214060

Cumming died March 13 1943, not 1945.

Re: Spitfire BR625 from 403. SQ - loss 13.3.1945

Hi udf_00 and Kutscha,

thanks for info - it was during Ramrod 43 - but in the file from Tony Wood about 1943, the plane of F/O Cumming is Spitfire Mk. IX serial number BS145?

Have somebody more info (ORB or different doc) about participation of 403. SQ during this operation?

I remember, that there is a link with online pdf file with RCAF squadrons during WWII - I remember, that there was bomber squadrons, I´m not sure about fighters.

Thanks Faenor

Hi Crimea River,

excellent reply - thanks a lot!

Reports are on the page 740-742 + 753 and 754. Both lost Spitfires from this squadron was from same section (Blue 3 and Blue 4) and probably victim of JG 26.

Thanks and have a nice day

Faenor
